Public Health Practitioner
This is an exciting opportunity to join North Yorkshire’s Public Health Team and support the population of England’s largest county to live happier, healthier and longer lives. The team support the delivery a range of services and interventions across the three domains of Public Health practice (Health Protection, Health Improvement and Healthcare Public Health).
This entry level post will primarily support the diverse and evolving areas of work outlined below:
Research
- The post holder will have a critical role in promoting research awareness, engagement and evidence informed practice in the Health and Adult Services directorate.
Public Health Workforce Development
- The postholder will be key to supporting the delivery of the Public Health Workforce Strategic Development Framework e.g., co-ordinating work experience and volunteer placements, internships, placement evaluations, public health team training and public health skills and knowledge development of the wider workforce.
Good Work & Health
- The postholder will support activities relating to promoting healthy work across the council and county. This will include work on promoting the use of MECC (making every contact count) and other activities to support good work and workplace health as required.
The postholder will also support a wide range of public health activities/projects across the Public Health Team e.g., supporting the Director of Public Health Annual Report, public health communications and team meetings.
