Nutrition Officer
About the Role
We are seeking a Nutrition Officer to contribute to and support the delivery of high-quality research and policy development for the UK and internationally on salt, sugar, fat and calorie reduction initiatives. You will provide technical support and enable team to efficiently carry out their salt, sugar, fat and calorie research projects, involving nutrition data collection, data analysis, interpretation, reporting, dissemination, and stakeholder engagement. Your work will potentially help shape the development of future public health nutrition policies in the UK.
About You
Candidates must have an undergraduate or postgraduate degree with training in quantitative data analysis (or equivalent experience), excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office software, and be interested in nutrition as a way to improve public health. Physical presence and residence in the UK is essential for this role.
Experience of using statistical software (including R, Stata, SAS, or SPSS) would be an advantage. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical, administration and organisational skills.
About the Unit
The Research and Action on Salt and Obesity (RASO) Unit, based within the Centre for Public Health and Policy, works nationally and internationally to develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based public health policies to reduce salt, sugar, and saturated fat consumption across the whole population. The RASO Unit is led by Feng He, Professor of Global Health Research, and Graham MacGregor, Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine.
