Nutrition and Physical Activity Advisor

You may have recently graduated and looking for your first post or you have a bit more life experience looking to do something different.
Job Purpose:
As a Nutrition and Physical Activity Leader in ABL’s specialist weight management programme you will be working with adults to support, motivate and advise those who are currently obese. You will be passionate about working with individuals to begin the life changing processes necessary for permanent and continued weight loss and weight maintenance.
You will be joining a large team of behavior change specialists in ABL Health including Specialist Lifestyle Coaches, Nutritionists, Dietitians, GP’s, Psychotherapists and Exercise Specialists to deliver evidence based, holistic and realistic weight management to people in the community. ▪ Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT), your role will be to provide specialist prescribed exercise and nutrition support (1-2-1 and group) regarding the benefits of healthy eating, and opportunities to reduce sedentary behavior and increase habitual levels of physical activity, to ensure excellent patient healthcare and contractual outcomes are achieved.
Some of the essential criteria for the role:
- Degree in accredited Nutrition course (ANutr/RNutr, AfN membership).
- REPs Level 3 Registration (REPS Level 4 desirable) and/or Member of CIMSPA at Practitioner level.
- Registration with CIMSPA (this can be obtained within 6 months of employment).
- Experience of planning and delivering appropriate health interventions specific to individual requirements.
- Experience working with hard-to-reach groups and tackling health inequalities.
- Experience of taking accurate physical measures and contributing to helping individuals meet physical activity/exercise targets.
