Head of Nutrition Research
The Role
We are searching for an experienced nutrition scientist with deep technical expertise to set the direction for nutrition science in a global ingredients company. In this role you will be responsible for delivering a science led funnel of new ideas, built on robust collaborative research using in vivo and ex vivo approaches. As a PhD-qualified nutrition science expert, you will be detailed orientated with a creative mindset, responsible for the development and execution of the nutrition research portfolio. You will bring deep technical and industry experience to this research-focused global role. You will work closely with colleagues in different parts of the business to identify, design and execute research opportunities supporting existing ingredients and new product development.

Must Have Skills and Experience
- PhD in the area of Nutrition and Health
- Detail orientated, driven by technical excellence
- Significant industry experience, working in the ingredients, pharmaceutical, supplements or food industries essential (B2B an advantage)
- A minimum of 8 years of applied scientific experience (can include post-doctoral post)
- Leadership of the design, management and reporting of research, including human clinical trials and ex vivo methodologies
- Proven ability to build strong relationships with multiple external stakeholders, including universities, contract lab researchers, industry scientists, customers and healthcare professionals
- Deep knowledge of sweeteners and carbohydrate nutrition highly desirable
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects
- Excellent communication skills – with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Highly motivated, collaborative self-starter
- Registered Nutritionist (RNutr) or Registration in Dietetics is desirable
