Children’s Healthy Weight Support Volunteer
Role Description
Support the Merton School Nursing Team to deliver weight management programmes for the 0-19 Weight Management Pathway. You will support the recruitment and promotion of the programme, as well as supporting the delivery of nutrition & physical activity sessions to children, alongside a Nutritionist Lead.
We are seeking an applicant coming to the end of their studies in nutrition or recently graduated from an AFN accredited course.
Locations
- Various children’s centres across across the Borough of Merton
Availability: 4 hours per week, Monday – Wednesday PMs
Make a Difference for Children’s Healthy Weight
- You will help the team deliver the face-to-face healthy lifestyle programme “FamilyStart Minis”, for children aged 2-5 years.
- You will work alongside the lead nutritionist and during sessions primarily support doing crafts, play and physical activities with the children.
- You will support with outreach & recruitment to the programme via telephone and text; and raising awareness of the programme locally.
- You will support families to fill out all relevant information prior, during & after programmes have been completed.
- You will help assist the team in weighing & measuring children where appropriate.
