The UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists (UKVRN)
AfN governs the UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists (UKVRN) to distinguish nutrition practitioners who meet rigorously applied training, competence and professional practice criteria. Its purpose is to protect the public and assure the credibility of nutrition as a responsible profession.
There are two categories of UKVRN registrant:
All UKVRN Registrants have a minimum of degree-level nutrition science and have committed to adhere to the AfN Standards of Ethics, Conduct and Performance.
In addition to UKVRN registration, the Association for Nutrition also accepts applications for:
A Fellow of the Association for Nutrition (FAfN) has been a Registered Nutritionist (RNutr) for at least five continuous years and has made a significant and sustained contribution to the advancement of nutrition regulation, practice, research or education at national/international level.
AfN is dedicated to raising public, employer and government awareness of this growing body of nutrition professionals whose practice is science-based and whose details are publicly available via our online listing.
