Trust wide Clinical and Service Lead for Nutrition & Hydration

There is an exciting opportunity available for the right person to lead the development of a new clinical service. Following a successful business case submission, East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust (EKHUFT) has committed significant investment into developing the Nutrition Service in order to achieve our mission of providing every patient with safe, timely and appropriate nutritional care.

Reporting to the Deputy Chief Nurse, you will be either a Registered Nurse or Allied Health Professional with active registration with the appropriate regulatory body, you must be an experienced and dynamic nutritional expert in order to provide leadership and direction to a range of multi-professional staff across the organisation and beyond.

You will be responsible for the development and implementation of operational and strategic plans for the Nutrition Service and for ensuring the development of a progressive and responsive service within a robust clinical governance framework. An effective leader, the Clinical and Service Lead will be a highly visible and authoritative individual who will recruit and line manage the Nutrition Nurse Specialist Team and lead on engagement of all groups of staff, patients and external organisations where appropriate.

The successful candidate will need excellent interpersonal, organisational and leadership skills to take the Nutrition and Hydration Strategy forwards. You will act as a role model in promoting effective and excellent nutritional care for patients throughout the Trust, influencing and improving the quality of care delivered to our patients.
