The Shape Up in the Community (SUiC) Healthy Lifestyle Training Programme is designed to improve knowledge and understanding of the importance of nutrition as it relates to a healthy lifestyle in adults, and to develop key skills required for effective delivery of Community Healthy Lifestyle Programmes to adults.

The SUiC Healthy Lifestyle Training Programme covers topics such as:
•    the key principles of healthy eating
•    Understanding portion sizes and the contribution to increased energy intakes
•    Understanding the principles of energy balance
•    Focus on Sugar, Salt and Fat – the role of these nutrients in the body
•    Understanding your role as a SUiC programme trainer.
•    Making and sustaining change: triggers, goals and rewards
•    Understanding food labels: the principles behind the different labelling systems

AfN Certified Courses provide a useful insight into the field of nutrition for those working in health and social care jobs that incorporate an aspect of nutrition, or for individuals who are looking for a short course before deciding on whether to pursue the further studies required to become a registered nutritionist.
