This online nutrition course allows you to study at a time and place that suits you. Designed and written by leading industry experts, you will receive a thorough understanding of nutrition, as well as the skills to provide sound and effective dietary advice and deliver weight management classes to others

What you will learn:

  • The factors that influence eating habits and how these can be managed
  • How the digestive system works
  • What is a calorie and how many do you need?
  • Using the Eatwell plate to make wise choices
  • The facts about fat and cholesterol
  • Carbohydrates and the importance of the glycaemic index
  • Vitamins, minerals and antioxidants – why you need them and where to find them
  • How alcohol affects your health and your weight
  • How much water you need and how you know if you are getting enough
  • The importance of exercise and activity in weight management
  • How to read a food label
  • Key techniques for working with clients on an individual basis
  • How to deliver an 8-week weight loss programme with a group

After completing these online lessons you will need to submit a case study based on your work with a client of your choosing.
