AfN Annual General Meeting

All AfN UKVRN Registered Nutritionists and Registered Associate Nutritionists were invited to attend and participate in the AGM, during which the President will formally present any Certificates of Fellowship of the AfN that have been awarded in 2018.

The AGM was followed by the 6th Annual Discourse, which Registrants were encouraged to join. In this year of #Votes100 we celebrated #NutritionIsAScience: Women of Influence. 

 
     
     
 
Attendance of AGMs
All UKVRN Registrants (RNutrs and ANutrs) with a fully paid up registration account on the day of the AGM may attend (pre-registration may be required for health and safety purposes of the venue).

This means attendence is open to all new Registrants who have joined within the year and those who have renewed their registration by their respective renewal date of 1st April or 1st October.

Individuals with lapsed or voluntary suspended registration are not eligible to attend until registration is reinstated. If you are in this category, you are able to join us for our Annual Discourse that is usually held after our AGM.
 
     
     
 
Minutes and Recordings of AGMs
Minutes of AGM's (and recordings of meetings where available) are available to all Registrants in the Registrants' Area of the website. Minutes are uploaded shortly after they are ratified.
 
     
     
 
Council/Trustee Elections
  • There were four positions available for election to AfN Council as Trustees for a term of office of three years from 1st Jan 2019 to 31st December 2021. Four nominations were received, therefore all were duly elected at the 2018 AGM on 3rd December 2018. If more than four nominations had been recieved, a ballot would have been held of all AfN Registrants with a fully paid up registration account. AfN Elections are held using the single transferable vote system as stated within the AfN Governance Rules.

  • There were also three Honorary Officer positions available for election to AfN Council for a term of office of one year from 1st Jan 2019 to 31st December 2019. The positions were: Honorary Treasurer, Honorary Secretary and Chair of Council. A single nomination was received for each position, therefore each were duly elected at the 2018 AGM on 3rd December 2018. If more than one nominations had been recieved for each position, a ballot of Council Members would have been held using the single transferable vote system, as stated within the AfN Governance Rules.

  • Nominations were accepted prior to 24th September 2018 from RNutrs / ANutrs with a fully paid up registration account with no current practice sanctions or ongoing FtP investigations.
